- ➤ UF student Felipe Zapata Velásquez, 27, was arrested in Gainesville on March 28 for driving with an expired license and registration and is now in ICE custody at Krome North Service Processing Center in Miami-Dade—he faces deportation proceedings that began after he was moved to Jacksonville. - ➤ Hundreds danced over the weekend in the O-Dome as UF Dance Marathon raised over $1 million for UF Health Shands Children's Hospital — the funds will support ongoing care for children. WCJB
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ The Florida Gators will play the Houston Cougars in the national championship game today at 8:50 p.m. EDT at the Alamodome—Florida won a 79 to 73 Final Four game over Auburn while Houston came back with a win over Duke, and both teams will rely on strong defense and rebounding to win the title.
