- ➤ Gainesville Mayor Harvey Ward released a Kwanzaa message on Friday, Dec. 26 that urged residents to celebrate with family, community, and culture while outlining seven key principles (unity, self-determination, collective work, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity, and faith) rooted in Pan-African traditions.
