- ➤ Local officials warn pet owners to watch for invasive cane toads that secrete a dangerous toxin during warm, rainy days. They advise washing pets’ mouths immediately if contact occurs (to lessen toxin exposure) and trimming yards to remove hiding spots. The Gainesville Sun
