EDUCATION NEWS

  • UF Interim President Donald Landry proposed a policy to bar UF leadership from making public statements on social issues + the measure is under review to keep campus communications neutral.  WCJB
  • Saturday night the UF Board announced its commitment to name a new president after Interim President Fauch stepped down. Board Chair Hosseini said the board will soon interview candidates (search began in September) while Interim President Landry outlined his vision for UF.  WCJB

  • Trainer Melissa from Gainesville Health & Fitness demonstrates stress-relieving yoga techniques today at her studio & live session to help locals manage holiday stress.  WCJB

SPORTS NEWS

  • Liv McGill scored 32 points and Yiech recorded her first double-double as the Florida Women’s Basketball Team won 75-61 over South Alabama Sunday at Exactech Arena (improving their record to 9-2) and will face West Georgia on Dec. 14 with a 2 p.m. tip.  WCJB
