ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On November 30, fire crews from Alachua County Fire Rescue, Melrose Fire Rescue, Windsor Fire Rescue, and the Florida Division of Forestry contained a five-acre brush fire off U.S. Hwy 301, just south of County Road 1474—using heavy equipment and brush trucks to protect nearby homes. - ➤ The University of Florida is expected to hire David Caldwell as the new general manager for the Gators—Caldwell worked as the Jaguars’ GM and held other NFL roles, and his hire comes as UF looks to strengthen its football leadership. The Independent Florida Alligator
- ➤ Florida football is expected to hire Tulane’s Jon Sumrall as its next head coach after a 42-day search to replace Billy Napier—this move follows a 40 to 21 win over Florida State and has sparked mixed social media reactions. The Gainesville Sun
