  • Alachua and Gilchrist counties have imposed burn bans for the next week due to dry conditions and quick-spreading brush fires over the weekend—one in High Springs threatened several structures. SPORTS NEWS

  • Former Florida football coach Urban Meyer will return to The Swamp this Saturday at 7:30 p.m. when he receives a plaque during the National Football Foundation On-Campus Salute as the Gators host Tennessee — he will be inducted on Dec. 9 in Las Vegas.  WRUF
  • Linebacker Myles Graham has led the Gators this season with 60 tackles in 10 games and a key sack at Ole Miss — his strong play comes as the team adjusts after a rough loss to Kentucky and a coaching change. His effort gives hope that the defense can finish the season strong.  WRUF
  • Florida’s Rocco Underwood, the first Gator recognized as best long snapper last season, was named a semifinalist for the Patrick Mannelly Award+ he recorded three solo tackles and one fumble recovery in 111 snaps. He has taken 89 snaps this season+ three semifinalists will advance to the final round when the winner is chosen on Dec 13.  WRUF
  • Lane Kiffin remains Florida's top coaching candidate after his family visited Gainesville and Baton Rouge (fueling speculation he could join LSU or remain with Ole Miss) while backup options include Drinkwitz, Fisch, Key, Brohm, and Sumrall; Florida now faces uncertainty with a 33% chance for each outcome as the decision is still pending.  GatorSports
  • Lane Kiffin has not yet decided his future as Ole Miss requires an answer by November 28 while reports note his family visited Gainesville and Baton Rouge—fueling rumors of a Florida Gators move. Analysts say rising betting odds and competing offers from LSU and NFL teams add pressure as his choice remains uncertain.  WRUF
  • Florida softball’s Gators finished fall ball by winning 7 games and losing 1 to Florida State at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium, and ace pitcher Keagan Rothrock posted a 0.90 ERA while Townsen Thomas, Cassidy McLellan, and transfer Madison Walker shined.
