- ➤ On Friday, Oct 24, the Shoppes at Thornebrook hosted a family trick-or-treat event with 60 vendors set to offer treats and local business information to welcome new arrivals—families enjoyed fun activities and extended store hours in a festive, safe environment. WUFT
- ➤ The Friends of the Library fall book sale began Saturday, Oct.25 and drew hundreds of customers browsing over 500,000 donated books, art, vinyl records and games—volunteers run the five-day event until Oct.29 with special discount days planned for Tuesday and Wednesday. The sale offers most items at 50 cents to $5 and features a collector's corner for signed books and first editions. WUFT
- ➤ Alachua County’s annual Friends of the Library Book Sale is underway as thousands search for books, art, and DVDs (boosting library services) in the local area. WCJB

- ➤ Gainesville residents dropped off unused prescription drugs at HCA Florida Gainesville Emergency on Saturday as part of the annual Crush the Crisis Prescription Drug Take Back Day — the 82 lbs collected will be sent to a DEA incineration facility for safe disposal. WUFT

- ➤ Damieon George Jr. transferred from Alabama to join the Gators after losing his father in 2016 and his sister earlier this year—he now works hard as a team leader and caring dad to his young son. - ➤ The Gators softball team hosted Florida State in an exhibition game on Sunday at 2 p.m. and maintained an undefeated fall record while leaning on key performances from sophomore Taylor Shumaker and a deep pitching staff. WRUF

- ➤ After a 4 to 1 loss to LSU on Sunday, the Florida Gators earned a berth in the SEC Tournament by finishing 11th in the conference and recording their highest conference points since 2019 under Samantha Bohon & they will face LSU again in Pensacola next Sunday at 3 p.m. WRUF
- ➤ After a 12-stroke win at the Williams Cup, the Florida Gators men's golf team is heading to Atlanta for the East Lake Cup where they will tee off today at 11:42 a.m. — the team, including veterans and young players, aims to build on strong performances and improve on last year's result. WRUF
- ➤ On Senior Night at Oak Hall Stadium, the North Florida Education Institute Fighting Eagles beat Oak Hall 46-18—senior quarterback Caden Loggins and sophomore running back Jeshi Carter led with standout plays including 231 all-purpose yards. Oak Hall now prepares to start its playoff run Thursday at 7 p.m. against Winter Park Trinity Prep Saints. WRUF
