SPORTS NEWS

  • Florida is hosting Mississippi State today at 4:15 p.m. at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium for a Homecoming game as the Gators seek to rebound from last week's loss — they plan a fast start and strong run game to counter Mississippi State's fast tempo offense and weak run defense.  WRUF
  • Florida beat Mississippi State 23-21 on Saturday after defensive tackle Michai Boireau made a game-sealing interception — an effort that offset offensive struggles — helping the Gators secure the win. Coach Billy Napier’s future remains uncertain as players credited the backups and freshmen for stepping up in the defense.  The Gainesville Sun
  • Florida football has announced that starting safety Jordan Castell and cornerback Cormani McClain will miss today's homecoming game against Mississippi State because Castell aggravated his upper body injury during pregame warmups—running back Ja'Kobi Jackson is also sidelined. Mississippi State has five players out, which could affect play in the matchup.  The Gainesville Sun
  • Florida football returned home on Saturday for homecoming but fans’ excitement was low as tailgates had less energy—calls for coach Billy Napier’s dismissal surfaced. Local supporters compared this subdued mood with past vibrant events—expressing concern over the team’s ongoing struggles on the road.  The Gainesville Sun
  • Florida football lost starting cornerback Devin Moore Saturday when he injured his shoulder and collarbone on the first drive against Mississippi State—he later returned to the sideline without pads.  GatorSports
  • Florida Gators soccer earned a 0-0 draw with No.4 Tennessee Thursday as goalkeeper Paloma Peña made a career-high 11 saves, the third-most in program history. The team now has 10 SEC points and will face Ole Miss today at 4 p.m. on SEC Network+.  WRUF
