- ➤ Team Gainesville is riding in the Law Enforcement United Road to Hope fundraiser that began October 4 and continues for three days to honor fallen officers and support their families as it travels from Chesapeake to Washington, D.C. to arrive for National Police Week — donations support programs like C.O.P.S and the Spirit of Blue Foundation. - ➤ Arch Manning played against the Gators on Oct. 4 at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium as Texas football’s quarterback, trying to change his family's 1—3 record in Gainesville. His uncles Peyton and Eli went 0—4 and 2—0 overall against Florida, respectively. The Gainesville Sun
- ➤ On October 3, the Gators volleyball team beat Auburn three to one in a four-set match at the O'Connell Center with Alexis Stucky recording a triple double — she led the game with 10 kills, 12 digs, and 42 assists. The team will travel to face the LSU Tigers today at 2 p.m. WRUF
- ➤ The Florida Gators beat No. 7 Texas 29 to 21 at The Swamp today with running back Jadan Baugh rushing 27 times for 107 yards and scoring a touchdown. The defense recorded six sacks and eight quarterback hurries—although the team was penalized seven times for 50 yards during the game. GatorSports
- ➤ Arch Manning struggled in his first SEC road start in Gainesville on Oct. 4—throwing 2 interceptions, being sacked 6 times, and completing 16 of 29 passes for 263 yards and 2 touchdowns—as Florida edged Texas 29-21. - ➤ SEC Nation and Marty & McGee visited Gainesville Saturday ahead of Florida’s 3:30 p.m. game against No. 9 Texas at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. Tim Tebow and other hosts offered mixed picks—some favoring Florida and others favoring Texas—while coach Napier said his team showed improvement in practice despite some fans calling for his removal. - ➤ Linebacker Myles Graham is leading the Gators' defense and has recorded 24 tackles in four games as the team has started 1-3, working to turn their season around. Coach Billy Napier said Graham is finding his voice on the field—an effort that is uniting the team ahead of a Saturday game against No. 9 Texas. WRUF
- ➤ Oak Hall keeps its winning streak alive by using pregame traditions—shared meals, guest talks, and weight room workouts—that build a strong team bond, which coach RJ Fuhr said helped the team beat Branford. The Eagles will play Jacksonville Old Plank Christian Academy next Friday at 7 p.m. WRUF
- ➤ Hawthorne High coach Cornelius Ingram said his team jumped to a 41—0 lead to rout the Bradenton Bayshore Bruins on homecoming and senior night, and his son Kyler scored a key touchdown early in the game.
