COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Alachua County residents raised over $200,000 for the American Heart Association at the 2025 Heart Walk, marking a strong community effort to support heart health.  WCJB

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Alachua County is inviting residents, farmers, vendors — and market supporters — to complete a five-minute survey that will guide new initiatives for local growers and small businesses. County Economic Development staff will visit 10 farmers markets through November to collect in-person feedback.  Alachua Chronicle

SPORTS NEWS

  • Florida volleyball will face Alabama today in Gainesville in the 60th meeting between the teams—Florida holds 54 wins and hopes a win today will improve its Sunday record to 5-1 after a recent loss. Game coverage starts at 12:45 p.m. with first serve at 1 p.m.  WRUF
  • The Florida Gators ended their first month with a 1-3 record and are on bye week; they show a strong defense but their offense struggles with Napier+Lagway issues. The team will host No. 10 Texas and face No. 9 Texas A&M next, and changes may come as the season continues.  WRUF
  • On Friday night, the Buchholz Bobcats won with a score of 27—7 at Citizens Field to extend their win streak to four after strong defense and key turnovers against Ponte Vedra Nease. The team will face Gainesville next Friday at 7:30 p.m.—aiming to add another win.  WRUF
