- ➤ Kaylyn Turner started The Giving Shed at 12913 SW 121st Ave. to offer free household items to neighbors facing rising costs. Her idea spread online and a local donor will supply a new 12-by-24-foot shed to help expand the service across the community. WUFT
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The University of Florida is now hosting the USDA-funded Breeding Insight program that uses AI and high-performance computing to develop new crops and animal breeds—UF was chosen for its strong agricultural programs—and researchers are set to improve pest- and disease-resistant varieties. - ➤ The University of Florida ranked No. 7 among public universities in the 2026 U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings on September 25, marking the eighth consecutive year the school placed in the top 10.
