- ➤ Residents will join the Walk to End Alzheimer’s Gainesville at Trinity United Methodist Church on Oct 11 as registration begins at 9 a.m.—the flower ceremony starts at 10 a.m. to honor those affected by the disease. Alachua Chronicle

- ➤ Leadership Gainesville Class 51 will host Brunch & Brass: A Perryman Revival on November 8 at the Cotton Club Museum and Cultural Center to raise funds for restoring the historic Perryman Grocery Store in East Gainesville. - ➤ Bird enthusiasts will join the Florida Museum of Natural History's Early Bird Gets the Band event at Prairie Creek Conservation Cemetery on Sept. 27 from 7:30 to 10 a.m. to watch live bird banding and learn about migration while tickets at $5 are available until Sept. 25 at 4 p.m. (participants should bring their own chairs since no seating is provided).
