CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Gainesville Police Department is investigating the shooting of a 19-year-old man on July 20 at about 10:44 p.m. on NE 15th Street—officers treated him before he was taken to a hospital. Alachua Chronicle
- ➤ On Sunday night, deputies responded to reports of shots fired at Westgate Manor Mobile Home Park at 5816 SW Archer Road and found no victims—hospital records later reported one person with a gunshot wound related to the incident. WCJB
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The University of Florida's Hamilton School for Classical and Civic Education hired 20 new faculty members on July 21, raising its total to 53 professors — and enrollment is expected to increase from 1,340 to 1,500 by fall. Alachua Chronicle
