- ➤ Jerry Wayne Brunson, Jr., 35, was arrested last night after fleeing a traffic stop on SW Archer Road and leading officers through several apartment complexes+ his abandoned car was later found near Butler Plaza before he was detained in another vehicle. Alachua Chronicle

- ➤ Coastal Carolina baseball coach Kevin Schnall sharply criticized Florida coach Kevin O’Sullivan on June 1 after the Gators were eliminated when O’Sullivan reportedly argued with tournament staff over a schedule change—he said this behavior disrespected key program personnel. The Gainesville Sun
- ➤ Former Gator Jac Caglianone has been called up to the Kansas City Royals to replace right fielder Hunter Renfroe after posting strong numbers in the minor leagues—he hit .322 with 15 home runs in 50 games and is expected to boost the team’s offense. WCJB
