  • Krispy Kreme will pay a $1.6 million settlement for a November 2024 data breach if eligible Florida consumers file a claim by June 22 (claimants may receive $75 or up to $3,500 for documented losses along with one year of credit monitoring).  The Gainesville Sun

CULTURE NEWS

  • Local graphic designers work with indie bands to create merchandise that shows off their style and boosts revenue. Bands use on-demand and DIY printing methods — like Weatherboys repurposing thrift shop buys — to offer unique items at lower costs.  The Independent Florida Alligator

EDUCATION NEWS

  • At Sidney Lanier Center, the Transition to Life program teaches special needs young adults job skills using its garden that supplies produce to the cafeteria and local families. The program got $3,500 from the Whole Foods Kids Garden grant and works with local volunteers + Gainesville Garden Club to expand.  The Independent Florida Alligator

SPORTS NEWS

  • After a two-year wait — Florida baseball will host the 2026 NCAA Regional at Condron Family Ballpark from May 29 to June 1. The NCAA Selection Committee announced Gainesville as the host site with full matchups to be revealed Monday at noon on ESPN2.  WRUF
  • Florida baseball fans can watch today at 12 p.m. on ESPN2 as the Gators await their NCAA Tournament seed. Gainesville is set to host a regional if the team earns a top-eight pick with their 39-19 record in the SEC Tournament.  The Gainesville Sun
  • At Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium yesterday, Florida lost 16 to 7 to Texas Tech in a wild NCAA Super Regional. The Red Raiders advanced to the Women’s College World Series by capitalizing on early inning errors.  WRUF
  • Florida’s baseball team beat Alabama 13-3 in Hoover with Lawson and Surowiec combining for six hits to propel the Gators into the SEC Tournament semifinals and will face Georgia Saturday at 1 p.m. (The win adds momentum heading into the semis.)  The Independent Florida Alligator
  • Florida softball forced a decisive game by blanking Texas Tech on Saturday — earning a spot in game 3 at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium. The final match will take place Sunday at 12 p.m. ET with pitcher Keagan Rothrock expected to start again.  The Gainesville Sun
  • Florida Gators softball coach Tim Walton was ejected from Game 3 of the Super Regional against Texas Tech at Gainesville on May 24 after he argued with the umpire about calls (his first ejection this season).  The Gainesville Sun
