James Mcfall, a Gainesville resident, has called for an investigation into employment practices at the Fairfield Marriott Gainesville I-75 after a former employee reported issues with underage drinking, drug use, and sexual harassment.

He claims that young UF students were pressured — mainly to drink alcohol and join drug-fueled parties — while a manager was forced to support these practices amid concerning family ties to a convicted drug trafficker.

Florida lacrosse beat Stanford in double overtime on May 11 to advance to the NCAA quarterfinals with a final score of 13 to 12 — marking the team's ninth appearance in the quarterfinals and a come-from-behind win.
