ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A head-on crash on CR-235 between Newberry and Alachua happened around 6 p.m. Sunday night when a driver illegally tried to pass another car in a no-passing zone—killing a 61-year-old passenger and leaving a 42-year-old driver, a 14-year-old passenger, and a 35-year-old man critically injured. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ It has been one week since a shooting on April 20 at T.B. McPherson Park—three people were shot during an Easter egg hunt—and Stonewall Sports president Scott Davis said his group, which usually hosts weekly kickball, felt safe and skipped the game on Easter while police continue searching for the gunman. - ➤ Christian Glenn Rogers, 26, was arrested yesterday after allegedly pulling a 9mm handgun from his vehicle and threatening two people at the High Springs Hardee’s drive-thru on April 26, with police later stopping his vehicle near I-75 and finding the gun (one round chambered and eight in the magazine).
