- ➤ Sheriff’s deputies began a homicide investigation after a friend called 911 (around 11 a.m. Sunday) when he found 21-year-old Aaviel Hester-Guadalupe unresponsive at Reflections Apartments. WCJB

- ➤ Gainesville-based band Southbound 441 will perform its farewell show at The Wooly on April 18th with doors opening at 7 p.m.—the event features openers Stillwater Revival, Sigs Inside and Honorable Mentions as members move on to further education and career opportunities. Lead singer Grant Schmid said the band is inviting fans to suggest songs on social media and will sell commemorative T-shirts listing past venues. The Gainesville Sun

- ➤ Graduate Assistants United has been meeting with UF officials since September for higher stipends, but talks have stalled after the university rejected five proposals and offered no new counter. - ➤ UF has partnered with ICE under a 287(g) agreement that lets local police help enforce immigration laws while eight international student visas were revoked as of April 10.
