- ➤ Two Alachua County juniors, Abhith Kasala from Gainesville High School + Shivi Tripathi from Eastside High School, will be honored at the Sunshine State Scholars program in Orlando on April 10th and 11th for their achievements in STEM. - ➤ Florida Gators beat Houston Cougars 65-63 on Monday, April 7 to win their third national championship, and fans gathered at The Swamp restaurant—located on University Avenue—to celebrate the last-minute win. The Gainesville Sun

- ➤ On Monday night, the University of Florida held a free watch party at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center so that Gator students and fans could watch the NCAA Championship game live from the Alamodome—doors opened at 7 p.m. and metal detectors screened all guests for safety. WRUF
- ➤ Gator Nation gathered outside local businesses as the Florida men's basketball team took the court against the Houston Cougars at 8:50 p.m. Monday in San Antonio and aimed to win an NCAA title after a strong 35-4 season. WRUF
- ➤ Florida Gators guard Alijah Martin led the team to a 79-73 win over Auburn Saturday with a strong slam dunk that gave him a new Final Four memory after a tough loss at FAU, and his team now will play Houston where guard LJ Cryer, who won a title at Baylor, is set to help his team in the NCAA Final. Coach Todd Golden praised both players' leadership—Martin’s comeback and Cryer's scoring—as the teams prepare for the NCAA Final scheduled to tip off at 8:50 p.m. GatorSports
