- ➤ Billy Donovan, who coached the Florida Gators for 19 seasons, was named to join the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2025 because he led the team to two national championships and several SEC titles. He left Florida in 2015 to coach in the NBA and is now in his tenth season in the league. WCJB
- ➤ The Florida Gators faced Auburn in their sixth Final Four appearance on Saturday at 6:09 p.m. EST—after close wins over UConn, Maryland, and Texas Tech—and the game decided which team moved on to Monday night's National Championship game. WUFT
- ➤ Gainesville High School girls lacrosse defeated Newberry 12-2 on Senior Night April 5—extending the Hurricanes’ record to 15-3 as five seniors were honored and the Panthers closed their season at 6-5 while several players plan to attend UF, St. Thomas University or FSU next year. WRUF
