- ➤ Humble Wood Fire Bagel Shop in the 4th Ave Food Park will be featured on 'Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives' Friday, April 4th at (9 p.m.) after owner Brett Ader and manager Tempra Arroyo provided detailed menus and ingredient lists following Food Network star Guy Fieri's mid-December visit to local restaurants. - ➤ Kailani Jackson, a senior at Newberry High (dual-enrolled at Santa Fe College), was honored with the Emerging Artist Award at the 2025 Community Excellence Awards and received a proclamation from Mayor Harvey Ward who declared (March 27) as Kailani Jackson Day for her work in musical theater, singing, acting and visual arts. - ➤ Acrosstown Repertory Theatre is performing an all-female version of The Taming of the Shrew that uses a 1960s sitcom style inspired by I Love Lucy to show classic roles in a new light. - ➤ On April 2, a GRU hearing set the stage for a judge to decide whether to dissolve the GRU Authority Board — rule the referendum is not legal — or ask for more time, leaving the final decision unresolved. WCJB
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ UF's Planned Parenthood Generation Action chapter is working with Aunt Flow—along with student government officials—to expand free menstrual product dispensers in campus bathrooms after a pilot in Fall 2024 installed 12 permanent units. Volunteers refill the dispensers weekly to help students access the products they need. The Independent Florida Alligator

- ➤ Florida Gators track and field will host the Pepsi Florida Relays on April 4 and 5 in Gainesville, with high school and college competitions featuring Olympians and teams such as Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee, and Texas A&M. The full schedule will be released later today. WRUF
- ➤ On Tuesday night April 2, the Gainesville High School girls lacrosse team defeated Matanzas 18-5 at home to improve its record to 14-4. The Hurricanes will face Newberry at home at 6:00 p.m. Thursday night — a Senior Night game. WRUF
- ➤ The Florida Gators earned a Final Four spot after an 84-79 comeback win over Texas Tech at the Elite Eight last Saturday in San Francisco.
