GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Alachua County has expanded its free legal assistance program to help all tenants facing housing legal issues regardless of income—offering direct legal aid and monthly workshops—while the service will continue until September. Alachua Chronicle
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ The Gators women’s basketball team overcame a double-digit deficit in the third quarter to edge Texas Tech 67—63 and advanced to the Final Four in Indianapolis for the first time in program history. Ra Shaya Kyle and Liv McGill led the team. WCJB
- ➤ Today, the Gators advanced to the Elite Eight with an 87-71 win over Maryland. The bench put up 47 points in the second half — out-rebounding Maryland 42-20 while Will Richard led with 15 points. WCJB
- ➤ The Florida lacrosse team won 13 to 12 after Gianna Monaco scored the winning goal in overtime on March 26th in Philadelphia — marking its fifth straight win. The team will travel to Davis, Calif. today at 9 p.m. for its next Big 12 game. WRUF
- ➤ Florida basketball will face Texas Tech tomorrow at 6:09 p.m. on TBS at the Chase Center as the team seeks its first Final Four appearance since 2014. The Gators are expected to win (84-73) and will work to grab more rebounds to control the game. GatorSports
- ➤ At Florida Gators Pro Day on Thursday, defensive tackle Desmond Watson, weighing 464 pounds, impressed NFL scouts by bench pressing 36 reps and running the 40-yard dash in 5.93 seconds—exceeding the NFL Combine mark by three reps. GatorSports
