UF College of Nursing will receive $3 million from UF Health and state funds to support 50 nursing scholarships, lab upgrades, and enhanced student services at its Gainesville and Jacksonville campuses.

This funding marks the second consecutive year of assistance as the college works to combat Florida's growing nursing shortage.

The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation reported that 10 restaurants in Alachua County had high-priority violations in health inspections conducted from March 10th to 16th, with several establishments in Gainesville facing issues such as improper food temperature control and sanitizer strength. Managers took corrective actions during follow-up inspections to address the problems—ensuring safety standards were met.
