- ➤ Zeta Phi Beta's Gainesville Zetas celebrate Finer Womanhood Month with free events (including Afternoon with Zora at Cotton Club Museum on March 29 and a breast cancer workshop on March 12) and they are launching a small business campaign while accepting scholarship applications until April 15. - ➤ Students explored automotive careers at Gainesville Raceway last Friday through the NHRA YES Program; hands-on displays, tool demonstrations, and panel discussions introduced high school and vocational learners to motorsports careers before the NHRA Gatornationals. WCJB

- ➤ Gainesville commissioners approved a $4.5M contract to renovate downtown Streatery on March 5. Construction will begin on April 13 to add new lighting, tree canopies, plantings and improved stormwater drainage — finish is expected before the first home game on Sept. 5. The Gainesville Sun

- ➤ No. 9 Florida baseball hosts High Point on Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Condron Family Ballpark as the team seeks to extend its win streak before facing Florida State and South Carolina. WRUF
- ➤ Buchholz baseball beat Gainesville 3-2 in a weather-shortened game on Thursday at Tiny Talbot Field, extending its win streak in the rivalry to 13 games. Gainesville's Hurricanes scored first in the fourth inning but the Bobcats held on with strong pitching until the game was called due to lightning. WRUF
- ➤ Florida Gators softball, riding a 23-1 record, will begin SEC play today at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium against Missouri. The team relies on strong hitting by multiple players even as pitching concerns linger due to the loss of star Ava Brown. The Gainesville Sun
- ➤ Florida men's basketball coach Todd Golden said the Gators are playing their best as they prepare for the final regular season game against Kentucky today.
