HEALTH NEWS

  • Nearly 200 residents attended Care to Share Day at Millhopper Family Dentistry recently, lining up as early as Friday to receive free dental care from cleanings to fillings (and many sacrificed sleep) as they sought confident smiles.  WCJB

SPORTS NEWS

  • Florida women’s track team won the SEC Indoor Championship Saturday night at Texas A&M’s Fasken Indoor Track and Field Facility after an 11th-place finish last year, scoring 77 points from sprints, jumps, and distance races.  The Independent Florida Alligator
  • Florida’s Gators beat No. 11 Oklahoma 4-3 on Saturday at the Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex — freshman Lucie Pawlak clinched the winning point. The team will face Louisiana State on Thursday at 6 p.m.  The Independent Florida Alligator
  • Florida defeated Miami in the Sunshine State rivalry game on Friday night. Starter Liam Peterson limited the Hurricanes to two runs over 5 2/3 innings while Brendan Lawson's homer and Jacob Kendall's hit pushed the score to 3-2, handing Miami its first loss of the season.  WCJB
  • Florida will host Arkansas on Saturday — in Gainesville with ESPN’s College GameDay covering the game as the Gators aim for their first SEC regular-season title since 2014.  The Independent Florida Alligator
  • Gators performed strongly today at the SEC Indoor Championships at Fasken Indoor Track and Field in Bryan College Station — eight athletes, including senior Imani Washington with a personal best, secured finals berths ahead of the contest at 3 p.m. ET.  WRUF
  • Florida freshman Blake Cox hit a half-court shot on ESPN’s College Gameday, winning $19,000 with three seconds left as the Gators prepare to host Arkansas Saturday night (TV20 Sports airs highlights at 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.).  WCJB
  • Florida clinched the SEC regular-season championship with a 111-77 victory over Arkansas Saturday (at the O’Connell Center). The Gators now hold a commanding lead and will look to wrap up the title at home Tuesday at 8 p.m.  WRUF
