- ➤ At Buchholz High School today, math teacher Christin Vinson, who has taught for more than a decade (and whose father was alive to see her win before his passing), received USA Today's national Teacher of the Year award and a $10,000 check. WCJB

- ➤ Michael Ebner, a park ranger at San Felasco Hammock Preserve State Park and Devil’s Millhopper Geological State Park, was named Florida Park Service Ranger of the Year on Jan. 27 by the Florida Park Service Ranger Association for his strong leadership in park operations. Alachua County Today

- ➤ UF is investigating two classrooms where measles exposure may have occurred, while recent data confirm six cases across North Florida. Health officials are contacting those at risk and stress that vaccination is the most effective safeguard. WUFT
