- ➤ After UF cut $2.9M from bus funding on June 5, 2025, bus routes connecting UF to grocery stores were reduced + food shelters saw a surge in food assistance calls, raising transportation challenges for students, families and residents in low-income neighborhoods. - ➤ Duke Energy Florida will remove the storm cost recovery charge in February, giving residential customers about $33 less per 1,000 kWh compared to January (commercial and industrial bills will drop 9.6% to 15.8%). Alachua Chronicle

- ➤ GHS senior Daniel Weber excels in weightlifting and academics as he finished first in his district and ranked in the state’s top 20, and he plans to major in engineering at UF; his coach said his strong work ethic inspires teammates (fueling a positive team culture). WCJB
